SISTERHOOD, SCHOLARSHIP, SERVICE
The Xi Mu Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho takes pride in its members and are committed to enhance their quality of life and the community we serve. We strive to get to know prospective members well and current members even more which distinguishes our sisterhood from the rest. We focus less on quantity but more on obtaining quality members.

Xi Mu's commitment to service is exemplified through the sorority slogan "Greater Service, Greater Progress". We complete community service projects each month. Volunteer sites include but are not limited to Jessie's Place, Alethia House, Habitat for Humanity, The American Red Cross and Avondale Elementary. Yearly, we raise money for the March of Dimes and St. Jude towards our sorority program Project Reassurance and Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure towards Hattie McDaniel Breast Cancer Awareness.
Our members also serve the community in other ways. At UAB, they have held positions like Resident Assistant (RA), Orientation Leader, Into the Streets Site Leaders, National Pan Hellenic Counselor Exec. Board Members, Black Student Awareness Council Exec. Board Member, Tutors, Ambassadors, Mentors and other leadership roles. |
Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. holds a high principle of Scholarship for its members and the community. As set through our founding principles and through history we realize that "knowledge is power" and education at any level is important.
